The Mom’s Perfume lofi sculpture is a physical and olfactory representation of my mother’s usual scent. This piece acknowledges how memory permeates each of our senses. Specifically, how a particular scent or scent combination may remind us of a person, place, or time.

A quilt made of 47 tiles, representing the 47 years of my mother’s life. Tiles were cut of fabrics which held memories between my mother and me, and then stitched together in a length which accounts for our differing heights; as if our bodies, and only our bodies - side by side, in a shared space and time- could be covered and comforted by the memories we shared.
